What is the Glot-Up?

Glot-Up is a Health device of Class I .

(Regla de clasificación: Regla 5RD 414/96).

The Glot-Up is a latex suction device, adaptable to the tongue and palate, made up of a body to be centred in the dental arc, with a U or horse shoe shaped structure adapted to the shape of the dental arc, with lower and upper cavities designed to align themselves correspondingly with the teeth.

From a general point of view, this device regulates the tone of the jaw muscles and the soft palate, and, likewise, avoids or corrects the Ogival palate. It also prevents the adenoids from obstructing the air flow. Another practical function of this suction device is to avoid nocturnal apnea caused by the obstruction of the respiratory track due to the collapse of the soft palate and the uvula.

There are three sizes of Glot-Up: small, medium and large. Its election will depend on the patient's age ( five years and upwards) and on the professional objective.

The primary aim of the product is helping the correct positioning of the molar bones, maxillae, dental pieces, and correct TMJ Syndrome (Temporal Mandibular Joint ) which, in turn, allows for an increased ventilation space in the rear area of the nasal cavities.

These functions are derived from Glot-up's action on general stress but specifically from Glot-up's action on muscular, joint and ligament fibers.
